Live at Last was Anastacia’s first european tour, most arenas were floor standing and seated stalls. The tour sold out in most countries and was a huge commercial success.
Along with the tour, two competitions were ran. The first was for the opportunity to go on stage with Anastacia to sing her hit song ‘One Day in Your Life’, this was run through radio stations in most countries. For the second leg of the tour, in 2005, the singer wanted to keep this element of the show but this time instead of a radio competition, two crew members armed with a video camera would record fans waiting outside the venue and choose two fans to sing onstage with the star.
Babara Weber, the creator of Anastacia Fanclub, was one of the lucky fans who was chosen in Vienna!
The second competition was for a meet and greet backstage with a photo opportunity, this was run in most countries though various publications.
Within the show Anastacia requested a ‘B Stage’ (a smaller stage in the middle of the audience) although security were worried about both the safety of the audience and her, the singer pushed for it saying she wanted a stripped back more acoustic section within the show in which she could be closer to the fans. This also gave the fans at the back of the arena a chance to be up close to the singer.
